Cumberland Middle School will hold their end of season baseball awards on Thursday, October 3, at 2:40 PM in the new gym. Please have your baseball player return his yellow belt to Coach Miller on this date, as well. Parents wishing to attend should check in at the office prior to going to the gym for the awards.
Cumberland Middle School would like to invite 5th grade students and their parents/guardians to sign up for band on Tuesday, October 1, from 3:15-6:30 PM in the band room. After reading the novel Bridge to Terabithia, the fifth grade students wrote and performed Medieval times dialogue.
The Cumberland Middle School softball team will hold their end of season awards on Friday, October 11, at 5:30 PM in the grade school cafeteria. The middle school cross country team competed in their final home meet yesterday. The 8th graders were recognized at the start of the meet. Overall, Paige Wolke finished 13th, Jacob Osborne, 17th, Lizzie Sudkamp, 19th, and Ivy Brummer, 20th.
Paige Wolke, Eden Fitch, Ivy Brummer, Marley Bierman, Audrey Edwards, Aubrey Weaver, Grady Cash, Alan Phipps, and Collin Oakley had new PRs. Everyone ran a great race through the swampy conditions!
The boys' baseball team won last night 9-1 over Red Hill. They will play Marshall today at 4:30 in the semifinals of the Regional. The game will be played at the Toledo diamond.
The 7th grade students finished the book, The Outsiders, recently. Together, they are creating an Outsiders biography poster of the main characters.
The middle school XC team competed in the Olney Invite on Saturday, September 21. Colby Roedl took home 1st place and the girls team finished third overall. Other award winners include Paige Wolke (7th), Lizzie Sudkamp (12th), Ivy Brummer (16th), Eden Fitch (18th), Marley Bierman (21st), Jacob Osborne (22nd), Natalie Peters (24th), and Cameron Coleman (27th).
Good luck to the Raiders baseball team as they begin Regional play this week! The Raiders play Bridgeport Red Hill today at 4:30 at the Toledo diamond.

The 5th grade students visited the Toledo Courthouse this morning. They toured the building and learned about what goes on in the courthouse. Judge Braden spoke to the students about what happens during court proceedings. The students are currently studying about the parts of the government in their social studies classes.
The regional baseball game between Cumberland Middle School and Bridgeport-Red Hill today (9/24) has been rescheduled to tomorrow (Wednesday, 9/25) at 4:30 in Toledo due to rain.
The Cumberland Middle School baseball will practice at the school this afternoon until 4:30 PM.
Students in Foods lll selected recipes and prepared pancakes. One group made banana pancakes, and another group made fruity pebbles pancakes. The final group made cinnamon swirl pancakes with cream cheese topping. YUM!🥞
The first round of the regional baseball game of Cumberland vs. Bridgeport Red Hill has been rescheduled to Tuesday, September 24, at 4:30. The game will still be played at the Toledo American Legion/First Neighbor Bank Field in Toledo.
The team will practice after school in the old gym until 4:30 PM today (9/23).

Cumberland Middle School worked as a team today! Students participated in a variety of team-building exercises including stacking cups without the use of their hands, saving "Sam, the gummy worm," drawing what another student described from a picture, constructing something out of marshmallows and toothpicks, and more!
The bus is decorated and ready to escort the Lady Raiders to the Sectional championship tomorrow! The game is at Casey at 11 AM. Good luck Lady Raiders Softball!
The middle school girls' home basketball game against Sullivan on Monday, September 23, has been canceled and will not be rescheduled.
School will dismiss at 12:09 PM on Friday, September, 20, for a Teacher In-service.
Cumberland Lady Raiders are Regional champions!! They defeated Windsor Stew-Stras 10-4. Lilly McMechan a the Good Sportsmanship award winner! The team will play at Casey in Sectionals on Saturday at 11 AM.
