The Cumberland Co. Cross Country team competed at the First to the Finish Invitational in Peoria today. Colby Roedl finished 50th with a time of 16:07.70. The team finished 10th out of 62 teams in the 1A division. Great run, Pirates! 🏴‍☠️

The CHS boys cross country team completed at EIU today. The team placed 2nd overall! Individually, four of the runners medaled. Cameron Roedl placed 15th, Colby Roedl placed 18th, Gavin Whitaker placed 37th, and Aydan Oakley placed 38th! Congratulations Pirates XC!

The greenhouse will be open this weekend for the FFA mum sale! Their hours are Friday 3:30-5 PM and Saturday 10 AM-2 PM. They have single color mums for $5, tricolors for $20, and Fountain grass for $25.

Parents and seniors are encouraged to attend Financial Aid Night on Wednesday, September 3, at 6:30 PM in the high school cafeteria. A representative from the financial aid office at Lake Land College will present information about grants, scholarships, loans, and the FAFSA. This information is relevant to all students regardless of where they plan to attend.

The high school cross country team competed in the Doc Acklin XC Invitational in Paris on Saturday, August 30. Colby Roedl placed 5th overall with a time of 16:45.67, and Gavin Whitaker placed 8th with a time of 17:01.99. The boys' team placed second overall. Congratulations!

Who doesn' t enjoy a game of putt putt golf? Today, in Mrs. Campbell's PE class, students designed their own putt putt hole for the other students to try! This fun activity was part of their ongoing golf unit.

Mr. Venatta's shop classes have been cleaning and preparing the shop for future projects. They have installed ductwork to pair with the old dust collection system for downdraft tables used while sanding. They are also preparing a cabinet for refinishing to be used in the teachers' lounge!
