The Foods III students made fried cheese curds recently. They made a homemade batter for the fresh curds that were purchased recently at Marcoot Jersey Creamery in Greenville, IL. One batch was a special garlic herb flavor, while the other was a simple plain cheese. 🧀



Students in the high school choir participated in the South-Central Youth in Harmony Festival at EIU on Monday, October 20th. They spent the day learning to sing barbershop quartet music, listening to live performances of quartets, and performed a concert that evening.

The freshman/sophomore volleyball game scheduled for tonight (10/20) at 5 PM vs.Teutopolis has been cancelled.
Congratulations to Cumberland Co. cross country runner, Paula Hoehn, for medaling at the Charleston Trojan Classic! She placed 34th with a time of 21:21.16.

Nokomis has cancelled JV football for 10-20-25. We are currently working on trying to find another opponent for an FS/JV game sometime next week.
The two CHS Basic Geometry classes have been learning about conditionals using “If…Then” statements! After reading the book by Laura Numeroff, If You Give a Pig a Pancake, the students showed off their creativity by making their own books filled with fun and clever examples.

The CHS Community Living class is learning how to place a food order over the phone and about the delivery process! Students tried it out for themselves by calling in their own orders and having them delivered from Coffee and Creams. Such a fun (and tasty!) way to learn real-life skills!

Congratulations to the Cumberland County boys team on placing second in the National Trail Conference meet! Cumberland had four individuals medal and make the All-Conference team. They are Cameron Roedl, 2nd place, and Colby Roedl, 4th place, for the boys, and Paula Hoehn, 5th place, and Molly Moran, 7th place, for the girls!


The CHS volleyball team will play its first game of the NTC tournament on Thursday, October 16, at 6 PM against SEB. The game will be played at the Enlow Gym at the high school. Good luck, Lady Pirates! 🏴☠️

In Biology this week, Mrs. Steber's students have been learning how to use light microscopes and using them to investigate plant cell structure.
