The Foods III students made fried cheese curds recently. They made a homemade batter for the fresh curds that were purchased recently at Marcoot Jersey Creamery in Greenville, IL. One batch was a special garlic herb flavor, while the other was a simple plain cheese. 🧀

Students in the high school choir participated in the South-Central Youth in Harmony Festival at EIU on Monday, October 20th. They spent the day learning to sing barbershop quartet music, listening to live performances of quartets, and performed a concert that evening.

The two CHS Basic Geometry classes have been learning about conditionals using “If…Then” statements! After reading the book by Laura Numeroff, If You Give a Pig a Pancake, the students showed off their creativity by making their own books filled with fun and clever examples.

Official titles include If You Give a Pig a Pancake, If You Give a Mouse a Cookie, and If You Take a Mouse to School. Hand-drawn covers show creative twists like If You Give a Girl Paint featuring a paint tube, If You Give a Patriot Tea with American flags and a teacup, and If Life Gives You Lemons, You Get Lemonade with a pitcher and glass. One student-made book shows a fishing pole with the caption "If you give [a] fishing pole, they won’t use it."

Congratulations to the Cumberland County boys team on placing second in the National Trail Conference meet! Cumberland had four individuals medal and make the All-Conference team. They are Cameron Roedl, 2nd place, and Colby Roedl, 4th place, for the boys, and Paula Hoehn, 5th place, and Molly Moran, 7th place, for the girls!
