The JV Football game at Argenta on September 7 has been canceled.

Help us celebrate the senior fall athletes before Friday's football game! Cheer, Cross Country, Football, and Volleyball athletes will be introduced at 6:35 PM. Afterward, stay to enjoy CHS's home opener with a 7 PM kickoff! Go Pirates! 🏴‍☠️

Foods III students were excited to get back into the kitchen. In this student-led class, they get to give input on what recipes will be made throughout the semester. Students made fast-food French Fries as their first cooking experience this fall. These are made by cutting, boiling, and baking potatoes. The process was time consuming, but the end product was delicious and healthy!

Are you ready for some football? The Pirates open their season on Friday, 8/21, at Fisher. The field is located at 501 ½ S Third St, Fisher, IL. Parking is located in the Jr/Sr High Parking lot behind the Home stands at the football field. Gates open at 6 PM.

The 2025-2026 high school yearbooks are now available for pickup in the high school office. Anyone still needing to purchase a yearbook should contact Wendy Peters at wpeters@cusd77.org. Availability is limited!

Mrs. Davidson is our new district nurse. Angie, her husband, Michael, and their three children, Elliott, Elsie, and Fenton, live in Toledo. She enjoys spending time with her family, watching her children participate in their sports, gardening, swimming, and crafting. She looks forward to building relationships this year and helping the children stay healthy, safe, and ready to learn every day.

Help us welcome Mrs. Hannah Eubanks to Cumberland!

Mrs. Eubanks is our new guidance counselor at Cumberland High School. She recently moved from Lexington, KY, with her husband and 16 month old son. Hannah enjoys needlepoint, cooking, hosting family and friends, and coordinating weddings. She is excited to work at a smaller school where she can get to know the students and community members on a more personal basis.

Ms. Malkovich will be a social studies teacher at Cumberland High School. She will teach civics, psychology, American colonial history, and Western civilizations. Mary loves being outdoors, spending time with her family and friends, and baking. She is looking forward to helping her students succeed and finding interest in social studies.

Beth is our new secretary at Cumberland High School. She has been married for 37 years and has a daughter and son. She also has a princess Yorkshire terrier named CoCo. Beth enjoys fishing, darts, quilting, and relaxing on her back deck.

Anyone interested in playing high school football can attend the first official practice on Wednesday, August 5, from 8:00 - 11:00 AM. Paperwork will be given at this time. 🚧 Parking Lot Maintenance 🚧

Our district parking lots are getting a fresh upgrade! We are currently sealing and striping the lots. Please be mindful of these areas and do not cross or park in zones blocked by cones.

The CHS volleyball coaches will hold a parent meeting on August 6th at 5:30 PM in the HS cafeteria.
