The baseball game today (5/1) with Argenta Oreana has been postponed until Wednesday, May 7. We will no longer be playing St. Teresa on that day.

Foods II students went on a field trip to Lucia's Italian Kitchen in Effingham, where they learned about authentic Italian cooking. Students heard about quality ingredients and were shown how to make homemade pasta by Chef Geno. For lunch, students made their own pizzas with assistance from the chef. Afterwards, they stopped at the park for a little fun in the sun!

The softball game at Cumberland has been canceled.
The baseball game has been postponed until May 15. We will no longer play North Clay on that date.

Foods II students made chocolate cakes with chocolate buttercream frosting. Special ingredients in the cake included buttermilk, extra egg yolk, and coffee. Yum!

The Lady Pirates are hosting a basketball camp for girls entering 1st - 5th grades from June 2-5 at the middle school gym. The camp is $40 per camper, and each camper will receive a women's basketball.
Session 1 - 9:00-10:15 AM (Girls entering 1st and 2nd grade)
Session 2- 10:30-11:45 AM (Girls entering 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade)

On Friday, April 25, the Cumberland High School Art Club went to the EIU Doudna Fine Arts Center to participate in LOVE for the Arts. Nine local schools attend workshops and compete in a juried art show. Cumberland placed 2nd in overall awards and earned the following individual awards:

In Physical Science, students built board games using electrical circuits.. They had a great variety of ideas and designs, with one group creating a working 'Operation' style game! It's awesome when science and fun come together!








Mrs. Lee’s Basic Earth Science students each wrote a letter to a NASA astronaut they had researched during their study of the planets. Today, one student received a response in the mail—a letter and an autographed photo from the astronaut he had contacted!


Yesterday, Mrs. Gibson's science classes rolled up their sleeves and picked up trash around the district campus to celebrate Earth Day and help take care of the planet! 🌎











Introducing the 2025 Cumberland High School Prom Court! The court includes Susie Fritts, Becca Layton, Hailey Achenbach, Joe Knowles, Kelby Bierman, and Wyatt Watkins.
This year's theme is One Night in Hollywood. The King and Queen will be voted on this week and crowned at Prom on Saturday, April 26, at the CCEBBA building in Toledo.


Students in grades 7-12 are invited to participate in the Welcome to the Real World workshop on May 10 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at CCEEBA. The registration link is below.
