Health Occupations IN-PERSON Orientation is right around the corner! Students participating may find their orientation information in the flyer below.


Cumberland High School will host Pirate Training on August 7, from 10 AM - 1:30 PM, for anyone new to the high school, including freshmen and transfer students. Students will tour the building, locate their classes, learn about extracurriculars and clubs, pick up Chromebooks, and have lunch with Pirate leaders. We hope to see you there!


There will be a parent meeting for those interested in playing high school volleyball on Wednesday, July 23, at 5:00 PM in the high school cafeteria.

Summer is the perfect time to take care of any medical requirements, so your child is all set and ready for a smooth start on the first day of school! The requirements for each grade are listed below.
Kindergarten: Physical, immunizations up-to-date, dental exam, and vision exam

Towards the end of the school year, CHS students in the Textiles class made numerous baby items to donate. They made blankets, burp cloths, and bandana bibs!

Mr. Murdock hosted a lifting event where students tested their strength in the bench press, squat, and deadlift. Those who totaled over 1000 lbs (boys) or 600 lbs (girls) earned a spot in the 1000lb/600lb Club and took home a custom club t-shirt! The boys in the 1000 lb Club are Matthew Redfern, Brett Wolke, Isaac Robinson, Mitchell Blade, Jaxson Dukeman, Zach Harmon, Gaven Lewis, Trey Lewis, Chance Nichols, and Maddox Sweitzer. Ani Edwards is in the 600 lb Club. 💪🔥



Logan Gerhardt and Reid Carlen advanced from the Altamont Sectional and will represent CHS at the IHSA State track meet at EIU on Thursday, May 29! At Sectionals, Logan placed 2nd in the 300H with a PR of 41.16. Reid placed 2nd in the 100M with a season record of 10.93. He also advanced in the 200M with 2nd place and a PR of 22.68. Congratulations!
