The Foods III students made fried cheese curds recently. They made a homemade batter for the fresh curds that were purchased recently at Marcoot Jersey Creamery in Greenville, IL. One batch was a special garlic herb flavor, while the other was a simple plain cheese. 🧀

Students in the high school choir participated in the South-Central Youth in Harmony Festival at EIU on Monday, October 20th. They spent the day learning to sing barbershop quartet music, listening to live performances of quartets, and performed a concert that evening.

The two CHS Basic Geometry classes have been learning about conditionals using “If…Then” statements! After reading the book by Laura Numeroff, If You Give a Pig a Pancake, the students showed off their creativity by making their own books filled with fun and clever examples.

A collection of published and student-made children's books arranged on a wooden table, inspired by Laura Numeroff's "If You Give..." series. Official titles include If You Give a Pig a Pancake, If You Give a Mouse a Cookie, and If You Take a Mouse to School. Hand-drawn covers show creative twists like If You Give a Girl Paint featuring a paint tube, If You Give a Patriot Tea with American flags and a teacup, and If Life Gives You Lemons, You Get Lemonade with a pitcher and glass. One student-made book shows a fishing pole with the caption "If you give [a] fishing pole, they won’t use it."
A tabletop display of children's books and handmade book covers inspired by Laura Numeroff's "If You Give..." series.
