Jason Duhamell, a cardiac nurse for Carle, visited the high school Anatomy class to discuss blood pressure. He gave the students hands-on training to measure their own blood pressure!



Last night, the high school chess club traveled to Mattoon High School to compete against their IHSA Chess Team. Each player played two matches. Mitchell Blade and Alice Santi both won one of their matches!



Reminder: Any parent or guardian who wants to put a senior ad in the high school yearbook needs to send all materials and payment to Wendy Peters by December 22.

The EIU Jazz Lab Band stopped by this afternoon to play a collection of songs for the middle school and high school band students. The students enjoyed listening to the show and learning about the band.



The JV and Varsity boys basketball game against OPH on 12-1-23 will be played at Hutsonville.

Students in Ms. Booth's Math Applications class recently built Icosahedrons! Icosahedrons are three-dimensional shapes with 20 faces.








Mrs. Gibsom's Anatomy class recently traveled to the Peoria Riverfront Museum to see the Body World exhibit. They had a great time and learned a lot about the anatomy of the human body.


Thanksgiving break begins with 2:20 PM dismissal on Tuesday, 11/21. There will be no school from 11/22-11/26. School resumes on Monday, 11/27.

Mrs. Gibsom's Anatomy classes tested their senses as they progressed through the nervous system!



Meet the Pirates on Friday, November 17 at 7:30 PM! The Cheerleaders, Girls' Basketball team, and Boys' Basketball teams will be introduced followed by Varsity, JV, and Freshmen/Sophomore scrimmages. Please bring a nonperishable item in support of the food drive!


The CHS Class of 2027 is selling Little Caesar Pizza Kits from November 13 - 27. If you would like to support the class, please contact a freshman, Mrs. Heuerman, or Mrs. Taylor. The kits will be delivered the week of December 11.


Biology II students practiced their dissecting skills on gummy bears. After mastering that skill, they dissected a starfish!



Tonight is Senior Night for the Lady Pirates! Cumberland plays Brownstown-St. Elmo at 6 PM. Come out and support the team and the seniors!
