In second grade, Ms. Bueker’s class has been reading and writing about a hedgehog. The students completed an art project of a hedgehog to go along with the story. To wrap up the unit, a parent brought in one of the student's pet hedgehogs. It was fun for the class to see a real hedgehog!

Retake Picture Day is 10/18/2023! If you're satisfied with your child's picture, no further action is required. If you purchased and were unhappy with your Picture Package, please send your Picture Package to school with your student on Retake Day. Your Retake Picture Package will be produced and shipped to the school four weeks after Retake Day. Students who were absent for Picture Day should come to school prepared to have their picture taken. Join us next week at the elementary/middle school for fun-filled Family Engagement nights of FREE haircuts, nail painting, spooky treats, games, and a Scholastic book fair. On October 17-19, during Parent-Teacher Conferences from 4-6:30 PM, there will be a variety of activities for the family. Childcare is available for school-aged students during conferences.

Join us for Fun and Free Family Engagement Nights on October 17 and 19. Students will be able to enjoy a variety of activities, and parents will have the opportunity to meet with teachers. On Tuesday, Cumberland students can receive free haircuts, get their nails painted, and create a spooky treat to take home. On Thursday, there will be a variety of games to play as well as snacks to enjoy. Childcare services are available during Parent-Teacher Conferences for school-aged students. The Scholastic Book Fair will be open on both days. We hope to see you there!

Mrs. Bierman’s second grade class constructed a model of the Indus River valley complete with the Himalayan Mountains, the Indus River, irrigation canals, and the Citadel with protecting wall, farms, and fields. The students had so much fun learning!

The 3rd grade finished their first ELA unit of the year! This unit covered classic tales. Mrs. Kemper and Mrs. Staley’s classes celebrated with their very own tea party and watched Alice In Wonderland, which was a story the students read. The students enjoyed the classic story!
