
Senior Night Tonight!

Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) held their first meeting this morning at the high school. They enjoyed breakfast and listened to Greg Boldt share about the challenges of being a student athlete and the role integrity plays in their lives. This club will meet every 2nd and 4th Thursday morning of each month and is open to high school athletes in all sports.

Biology I was working on the scientific method and discovered that Bounty paper towels are twice as absorbent than generic paper towels!





The PE classes at the high school have been studying golf over the past few weeks. Today, golfers practiced their drives. Many had a good time trying this sport, which can be a lifelong activity.

Seniors and Parents/Guardians:
Join us tonight at 6:00 pm for our Senior Information and Financial Aid Night in the high school cafeteria. Ms. Plummer will provide valuable information at this meeting regarding resources for all students as they make plans for their future following senior year. Then, Danielle Downs, a financial aid specialist, will be here to present information on financial aid and the FAFSA. All students are required by the state of Illinois to file a FAFSA in order to graduate. Please plan on coming to this informative meeting. The meeting will conclude between 7:00 pm and 7:30 pm.


Students in a high school art class were working on their sketchbook drawings last week. We have some very talented students!




The Cumberland volleyball team will participate in the 2022 Ray Long Pretzel Classic hosted by New Berlin HS on September 16-17. Pictured is the bracket for the tournament.

The student section's beach theme helped get the Lady Pirates volleyball team a win at home over Charleston last night!


Cumberland High School's new gym flag was revealed tonight at the first home volleyball game. Thank you to Kathryn Hodges Charitable Trust and Bob and Jeannie Carr for their contribution towards the flag.

The 2021-2022 HS yearbooks are available in the HS office. 2022 graduates can stop by the office to pick up yearbooks during school hours.


Crush Cancer T-Shirts are available to order until September 14. All additional funds will go to assist Brittany Gilbert, Cumberland Middle School teacher, with her medical expenses.


Health forms and Dental Bus forms are due to the school nurse on Friday. If your child has not brought these forms home, they are still available at both school offices.

Early Dismissal this Week


Open House Tonight!


This week several students got a sneak peek of their school year. Yesterday, the freshman class had “Pirate Training” and tonight the 5th graders attended an orientation of middle school. Don’t worry if you weren’t one of these students. All students and parents can visit the classes and meet the teachers on Friday, August 19, from 6-8 PM at Meet the Teacher Night.
