Our class has formed
an entomology club. Our
job is to learn facts about insects. Have
fun!
1.
Read about an insect's body parts.
Listen and sing along with the tape recording of
"Head, Thorax, Abdomen."
2.
Your group will use the bread dough recipe
to create insects. Make sure they have 3 body parts.
3.
Read about the life cycle of a butterfly.
Look at the life cycle model made with pasta.
Make one of your own.
4.
Some insects are symmetrical.
Print out the ladybug and follow the directions to give the
ladybug symmetrical wings.
5.
Print out an Insect Fact Sheet to record information
you will gather about the insect of your choice. Visit www.ajkids.com to find information. Use these facts to write a paragraph.
6.
Just for fun… See what the world would
look like through the compound
eyes of an insect.
7.
Try the insect quiz with a partner. Take
turns reading the questions to each other.
