Fauna of the Prairies of Cumberland County, Illinois Cumberland High School
The following information on this page is to provide a catalog of animals that may be found in the prairie of Toledo, Illinois or were present at one time in the past.By clicking on the picture of the animal you will be able to see a description, some discussion about the animal, distribution, pictures and location where they may be found in the prairie we are surveying. The following web pages were
created by Biology I students during the fall season of the years 2004 (green
letters) and 2005 (blue letters). This project, TEAMS II, was funded and
provided teacher training through grants obtained by Dr. Marylin Lisowki of
Eastern Illinois University and Dr. Bob Williams of Southern Illinois
University. A sincere thanks to both of them for their persistent hard
work and effort which has allowed this wonderful project to be possible.
